Emergency First Aid at Work 1 day course (Level 2)

Who is this course for?

This course is designed for people who are required to receive training in emergency first aid and is particularly suited for nominated first aiders in smaller, low risk working environments. This national Award in Emergency First Aid at Work satisfies the requirements of the regulatory body for First Aid – the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

All learners will have the skills and knowledge to provide the organisation with Emergency First Aider’s that can provide treatment to their casualties in a prompt, safe and effective manner.

 

Duration

A minimum of 6 hours makes up the theoretical and practical work. This can be completed in 1 day or Ladybird First Aid has the flexibility to accommodate your specific needs if you so desire providing it is completed within 6 weeks of starting the course (For example: 3 hours over 2 evenings)

 

Syllabus

A range of subjects are covered including:

 

•Responsibilities and reporting

•Assessment of the situation

•Dealing with an unresponsive casualty

•Basic hygiene in First Aid

•Burns

•Epilepsy

•Resuscitation

•Anatomy

•Minor injuries

•Bleeding control

•Choking

 

Certification

Assessment is ongoing by the instructor in respect of the student’s practical skills and there will be multiple choice question paper to answer in respect of their knowledge.

 

A three year certificate will be issued, subject to assessment.

 

Numbers

A maximum of 12 students can be accommodated on this course.

 

Age limit

Students must be a minimum of 16 years of age to qualify.

 

Location

We are able to deliver this course on your site, subject to a pre-course assessment of your premises, reducing your costs in respect of additional time

 

Prerequisites

Candidates must be physically able to carry out the practical elements and assessments.
